Formerly known as the Optima, the Kia K5 is a midsize sedan that’s now in its fifth generation. The K5 is powered by a choice of 4-cyl engines or an optional plug-in hybrid drivetrain, and has been the recipient of numerous awards from the automotive press. With a turbo 1.6L 4-cyl, the K5 is capable of turning in 29 mpg city/38 mpg highway. Kumho Solus TA31+ or Pirelli P Zero All Season tires would be OEM for this make/model. The 2021 model was offered with EX, GT, GT-Line, LX and LXS trim levels.
When it’s time to shop 2021 Kia K5 tires, we’d suggest premium performance-oriented all-season tires. Check out tires like the Michelin Primacy MXM4, Bridgestone DriveGuard or Hankook Kinergy GT (H436), or for sharper cornering and braking performance there’s summer/ultra-high-performance tires like the Falken Azenis FK460 A/S or Firestone Firehawk Indy 500. Just remember that summer/UHP tires use a softer, stickier tread formulation that will stiffen up and lose grip on colder days. Summer/UHP tires shouldn’t be used if temperatures are below 40-45 degrees F.
